Common signs of a valve problem

A sprinkler valve that is stuck open may keep one zone running after the timer shuts off, cause constant soggy spots, or make water flow when the system is supposed to be off. A valve that is stuck closed can leave one zone dry even though the controller starts the cycle normally.

What to look for

  • One sprinkler zone won’t turn on at all
  • A zone keeps running after the cycle ends
  • Water is leaking from a valve box or nearby ground
  • You hear a humming or buzzing sound from the valve
  • Only part of the system works as expected

These issues can come from debris inside the valve, a worn diaphragm, damaged wiring, or a faulty solenoid. Dallas Landscape & Irrigation can inspect the valve, identify the cause, and recommend the right fix before the problem wastes more water.

If you suspect a valve issue, request an estimate and get professional help from a local irrigation team.
